Alloderm Lawsuit Attorneys

allodermAlloderm, is a biologic mesh, made of donated human skin, which encourages cell and tissue regeneration.  Cells are carefully removed from the cadaver dermis to prevent rejection by the patient.

Alloderm Uses
Alloderm is used to provide rapid revascularization, which helps prevent infection and speed healing.  Alloderm is used in hernia repairs, breast reconstruction, dental work, as well as treatment of severe burns and lacerations.

Alloderm Injuries
This mesh can result in serious Alloderm injuries.  Problems reported to the Food & Drug Administration include mesh explants, ring breakage, mesh tears, defective mesh, mesh perforations, adhesion issues, and mesh erosion.

Patients with Alloderm have side effects such as swelling, pain, abscess, inflammation, soreness, post-operative bulginess, hernia recurrence, and infection.  In some cases, and additional surgery is required to remove the tissue/mesh.

Due to these and other problems, the manufacturers of Alloderm issued a voluntary recall in 2005.
